5K PR

I am not one to post this frequently, but I looked up my previous results today in an hour break I had between classes. I know, I know, I should be doing work. But for me, it is extremely hard to get anything going in just an hour.

My 5K on Saturday of 22:09 is the fastest I have run at the end of a triathlon! Yeah. And it is almost my PR 5K of 22:08!

I find that super encouraging for all the running I have been doing this summer. I have settled on doing one of two 5K's I have found next weekend. And tomorrow afternoon, EZ is on a mission to run with me and change up one more thing about my stride, not that I have my hips straight.

Who knows, my secret goal of eventually breaking 21 minutes might be in my near future!

Way to go, Laurie! Nice running. Good luck at your upcoming 5Ks and thanks for sharing your secret time goal. I know you can do it. Congrats on a great race at Wilmington.

We're going to be at the Anna's Angels race this weekend - I'm doing the 5K and Marty's doing the 10 miler, in case that's one of the races you're deciding to do :)

Hey Laurie - GREAT race at your last tri!! Sounds like your bike and run were awesome which more than makes up for a disappointing swim (by your account - I would certainly be thrilled to swim your "slow" :) Congrats!! Have fun at your 5K. I think I smell a 20:xx coming on!! :)

Awesome! I'm thinking about Kansas 70.3 in 2009 since I'll probably have to do an early season one. Steelhead is a great venue, but they are planning on putting in a golf course next summer so the construction may interfere with the race site. Good luck with whichever one you choose.
